2006 Spring - Spring Backwards to the 80s - by Olivia

Looking at Marc's 2006 Collection - I can't help remebering my waroble as a` teenager in the late 80s, stripe leggings, slouchy sweaters, stirrup pants etc. When I left for college, my mother had tossed away my slouchy sweaters and leggings, convincing me that they would never have a chance to come back because they were just ugly fads. I guess designers must have run out of ideas, so there comes the 80s again....

While I used to think it was cool and hip, as a grown up who has seen enough fashion cycles, I regard the 80s style as the uglist, the most unsexy silhouettes that are totally not flattering to women. Luckily, I do find a few pieces in Marc's collection that, in my opinion are better than the 80s retro. There are some slim cropped pants, sexy tops with just the right amount of layering that still fit into this year's layering trend while maintaining a classy feminity. (not over the top 80s' slouchy style).
